After fighting censorship by Comcast for two weeks, ImpeachPAC today persuaded a different cable network - New England Cable News (NECN) - to broadcast a new TV ad opposing Joe Lieberman in Tuesday's Democratic primary.

The ad, called "Lie and Die," presents Iraq War lies by George Bush, Dick Cheney, and Joe Lieberman. Each lie is followed by photos of children who were killed in Iraq after the U.S. invasion in 2003. The ad then quotes John Kerry, who recently told Don Imus, "Our plan is not 'cut and run.' Their plan is 'lie and die.'"

NECN is the largest regional news network in the country, serving more than 3.5 million homes in more than 1,021 communities. ImpeachPAC's ad will go to 573,000 households in Connecticut plus 1 million households in western MA, VT, northern NH, and ME.

"We are extremely grateful to NECN for opposing censorship and standing up for the First Amendment," said Bob Fertik, president of ImpeachPAC.

ImpeachPAC (ImpeachPAC.org) was founded last November after polls showed a majority of Americans believe George Bush should be impeached for lying about Iraq. ImpeachPAC has raised over $75,000 from nearly 2,000 donors and has endorsed six candidates who actively support the impeachment of George Bush and Dick Cheney.

ImpeachPAC is moving in a new direction by running "independent expenditure" campaigns in high-profile races to highlight Bush's impeachable offenses. "Of course the illegal and catastrophic Iraq War is the top issue for voters, and the top reason for impeaching Bush," Fertik said. "Our new ad goes straight to the heart of the lies by George Bush, Dick Cheney, and their allies - including Joe Lieberman - that got America into this disaster."

"We hope these ads will persuade voters across the country to defeat those politicians - like Joe Lieberman - who continue to support George Bush's 'lie and die' policy," Fertik said.
