Sebastopol, a city known for its left-leaning activism, joined the debate over the Iraq war and domestic spying Thursday, calling for a congressional inquiry to explore grounds for impeaching President Bush.

I was very excited to attend the Plattsburgh NY City Council meeting tonight at 6PM. The chamber was packed with people, many of whom spoke in favor of Congress investigating George Bush over a host of alleged violations of law. Only two individuals spoke against the measure, and they seemed to have a personal issue with the Councilor who proposed the resolution, Bill Provost.

CHAPEL HILL - President Bush should be impeached, Town Council members unanimously decided Monday night.

The vote was the local body's latest foray into national politics. A local Republican dismissed it as a "move of desperation."

The Waldo County Democratic Committee in Maine voted on May 7th to pass a resolution calling for the impeachment of President Bush and Vice-President Cheney. The resolution reads as follows:

WHEREAS, George W. Bush and Richard B. Cheney conspired with others to defraud the United States of America by intentionally misleading Congress and the public regarding the threat from Iraq in order to justify a war in violation of 18 USC §371; and
