Impeachment Petitions to be Delivered to Speaker Dennis Hastert

Impeachment Petitions to be Delivered to Speaker Dennis Hastert

At 9:00 a.m. ET on Monday May 1, in Room 235 of the Cannon House Office Building in Washington, D.C., Ellen Tenney, from Rockingham Vermont, will present petitions from towns in Vermont calling for the impeachment of President Bush. The towns each passed resolutions to send the petitions. These petitions are the first few of many from towns across the nation that will be arriving at Congress's door. They are presented under the guidelines of Jefferson's Manual section 603, and will be referred to a House Committee, probably the Judiciary, for consideration."

A little less offbeat: Changing Nederland might not go for anti-Bush push

Nederland - Tonight, the town's board of trustees will consider a resolution to impeach President Bush.

Strange?

Not really. This is, after all, Nederland, a mountain community of 1,515 west of Boulder, where there are four Democrats for every Republican, where the board of trustees in 2003 passed a resolution opposing the Iraq war, and where the most famous resident is dead and frozen in a Tuff Shed.

Berkeley (CA) Impeachment Resolution Pending Tonight

By Judith Scherr (04-25-06)

A resolution on tonight’s (Tuesday) City Council agenda, calling on the House of Representatives to impeach President George W. Bush and Vice President Richard Cheney, is not just another feel-good Berkeley measure.

Jeremy must have been plowing through the old minutes books because he told me that back when I was town supervisor (1988-1991) the town board passed only one resolution dealing with national issues - one supporting our troops that were kicking Saddam out of Kuwait in Iraq I, The Father's War (though the resolution did not support the war itself).
