David vs. Goliath isn't just an accurate description of my campaign for Congress in California's 49th District, it's also a good analogy for the progressive movement. We, the people, are up against forces of greed and corruption that seem insurmountable. The power of our foe comes from almost limitless capital and a dearth of ethical boundaries to restrain what lengths they will go to keep their power and wealth.

We are only ordinary people, so how can we possibly defeat this ruthless giant? We CAN, because we MUST! It is all up to us.

My campaign is a slingshot aimed at the bullies who are sending our kids to fight and die for a chess game; the bullies who laugh while they destroy our environment and our children's future; the bullies who systematically chisel away at our freedoms; the bullies who focus the blame for the failures of their foreign and trade policies on the most marginalized among us.

As a grassroots candidate in a race written off as impossible, I have the freedom to write my own playbook. The instructions for winning this battle are written in my heart, and the message is about hope and the courage we need to prevail. And that's why I promise, without hesitation, that when I am in Congress I will make the impeachment of George W. Bush and Dick Cheney my first priority.

This nation cannot tolerate two more years of Cheneyism. This world will not survive their agenda of greed and corruption. We cannot
begin to undo the harm they have brought on the people of this country and this planet until the leaders of this ruthless cult are stripped of their authority and the power is returned to the people of this country.

As you might expect, anyone who takes a position against greed and corruption is not going to have an easy time of raising funds. That's why the contribution from ImpeachPAC is so precious to this campaign. I assure you, we will spend every dollar wisely and I will continue to speak truth to power for all the people.
