Here's a 30-minute mp3 file of an interview I recorded earlier today with Tony Trupiano, the former national radio host who is now the Democratic nominee to throw Bush-follower Thaddeus McCotter out of his seat in the U.S. House of Representatives where he fails to represent Michigan's 11th District. David vs. Goliath isn't just an accurate description of my campaign for Congress in California's 49th District, it's also a good analogy for the progressive movement. We, the people, are up against forces of greed and corruption that seem insurmountable. The power of our foe comes from almost limitless capital and a dearth of ethical boundaries to restrain what lengths they will go to keep their power and wealth.

We are only ordinary people, so how can we possibly defeat this ruthless giant? We CAN, because we MUST! It is all up to us.

ImpeachPAC.org endorsed US congressional candidate Jeeni Criscenzo and AfterDowningStreet.org activist Barbara Cummings traveled to Mexico to observe the recent election. Here are their reports.

July 4th. The state of the union is not good. George Bush has taken something very precious from me. The pride in saying I am an American and my flag stands for goodness and freedom.

A few weeks ago I was afforded the privilege of applying to be an OFFICIAL FOREIGN OBSERVER to the presidential election in Mexico on July 3rd. The paperwork took a few trips to the Mexican Consulate plus a $98 processing fee. Finally, completed visa and badge from IFE (election board) in hand I crossed the border at Tijuana on Saturday the 2nd. Our host family greeted us at the border and guided us for the next two days.

On this blog, Liza Sabater provides a very useful analysis of the Congressional race in New York's 11th District and the racial issues involved, and she throws her support to our man: Chris Owens!

ImpeachPAC, a federal PAC funding pro-impeachment candidates for Congress, endorsed Dr. Bill Durston in his race for California's 3rd Congressional District against rightwing Republican Dan Lungren.

Dr. Durston served in Vietnam with the Marines 3rd Force Reconnaissance Company, and he received the Navy Commendation medal for bravery under combat. He is board certified in both Internal Medicine and Emergency Medicine and has practiced in Sacramento for over 20 years. He was President of the Sacramento chapter of Physicians for Social Responsibility from 2003 until this year.

Bright sent the following note to ImpeachPAC: "Had it not been for your endorsement and financial help, and for the Dennis Kucinich endorsement, we likely would not have made it to the nomination. ImpeachPAC, a federal PAC funding pro-impeachment candidates for Congress, has announced its fifth endorsement, Carl Sheeler of Rhode Island, who is seeking the Democratic nomination to challenge Republican incumbent Lincoln Chafee.

ImpeachPAC has previously endorsed three candidates for the House of Representatives, Michigan's Tony Trupiano, New York's Chris Owens, and California's Jeeni Criscenzo, and one other for the Senate, Maine's Jean Hay Bright. ImpeachPAC is contributing $2,100 to Sheeler's campaign, and will soon be able to contribute another $2,900, after informing the FEC that the PAC has now endorsed five candidates. At the same time, ImpeachPAC will be sending another $2,900 to each of the other four endorsees.
