I work with the Sunlight Network (www.sunlightnetwork.com), a political transparency group, dedicated to restoring honesty and transparency back to Washington. For the past several months we have been asking candidates to sign the Punch Clock Agreement, which essentially states that if they win their race, once they get to Washington, they will start posting their daily schedule online so their constituents will be able to follow along with the work of

David Swanson: Tony Trupiano, it's great to talk to you; so how does campaigning compare to working on the radio?

Here's a 30-minute mp3 file of an interview I recorded earlier today with Tony Trupiano, the former national radio host who is now the Democratic nominee to throw Bush-follower Thaddeus McCotter out of his seat in the U.S. House of Representatives where he fails to represent Michigan's 11th District. While I support Trupiano and encourage others to do so, in this interview I ask him about positions he's taken that I find troubling. In case you don't have time for the whole interview and want to skip ahead, here are some topics discussed, in order:

Thank you again for the support of ImpeachPAC.org to my U.S. senate campaign. As I have told you before, without the funds provided by ImpeachPAC during the final days of the primary, we likely would not have won the nomination. Now, as we move into the fall campaign, I am proud to be THE Democratic nominee for U.S. Senate in Maine AND a supporter of the call to initiate impeachment proceedings against Bush and Cheney.

Providence, RI - Marine veteran, business owner and progressive Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Carl Sheeler condemned "Big Oil" in general and Exxon as well as the current GOP controlled Congress, specifically, for what he claimed amounts to "war profiteering".

David vs. Goliath isn't just an accurate description of my campaign for Congress in California's 49th District, it's also a good analogy for the progressive movement. We, the people, are up against forces of greed and corruption that seem insurmountable. The power of our foe comes from almost limitless capital and a dearth of ethical boundaries to restrain what lengths they will go to keep their power and wealth.
We are only ordinary people, so how can we possibly defeat this ruthless giant? We CAN, because we MUST! It is all up to us.
My campaign is a slingshot aimed at the bullies who are sending our kids to fight and die for a chess game; the bullies who laugh while they destroy our environment and our children's future; the bullies who systematically chisel away at our freedoms; the bullies who focus the blame for the failures of their foreign and trade policies on the most marginalized among us.

ImpeachPAC continues to provide the clearest path to accountability that this country deserves. As their first endorsed candidate I proudly stand with the majority of the country that has embraced truth and transparency in Government and will no longer accept the tired excuses that have cost us the blood and lives of the future of this country and the wasting of billions of taxpayer dollars in the name of terror. The ImpeachPAC donation plants a seed of hope and with the contributions of many other like minded people we can grow that seed of change and hope. Let’s win!

Please convey my heartfelt gratitude to Bob Fertik and other "believers" for your faith in our every effort to preserve, protect and defend our Constitution.
It's an oath as a prior Marine officer and as a future US Senator I do not take lightly or upon which I will waiver.
IMPEACHPAC has been the beacon for multitudes who understand nobody is above our laws - not even this president or those who have exceeded their authority. It seems our Supreme Court has recently addressed this on at least two issues.

BARBARA CUMMINGS' REPORT:
July 4th. The state of the union is not good. George Bush has taken something very precious from me. The pride in saying I am an American and my flag stands for goodness and freedom.
A few weeks ago I was afforded the privilege of applying to be an OFFICIAL FOREIGN OBSERVER to the presidential election in Mexico on July 3rd. The paperwork took a few trips to the Mexican Consulate plus a $98 processing fee. Finally, completed visa and badge from IFE (election board) in hand I crossed the border at Tijuana on Saturday the 2nd. Our host family greeted us at the border and guided us for the next two days.
